Design studio, Tom Pigeon, has collaborated with the Finnish ecological solid surface manufacturer, Durat to create a new jewellery collection, Totem, which launches with two luxurious, Memphis-inspired pieces of jewellery. Each neck piece combines a square of solid Durat alongside tinted and frosted acrylic, wood and solid metal tube, threaded onto adjustable leather cord. Kirsty from Tom Pigeon has always wanted to work with Durat for years, as their material is really exciting and has an amazing palette of colours and colour combinations and the brand like its environmental credentials. As a material it’s fantastic to work with, it has a unique delicately speckled visual appearance with a three dimensional quality that makes it really eye-catching.

The Totem pieces combine geometric shapes, materials and textures to create a playful neck piece. Heikki Karppinen, Durat’s Chief Operating Officer, loves seeing their material used in imaginative new ways. The combination of materials and shapes make the pieces truly unique. The inspiring designs made an immediate impression and can be worn with any form of style. Totem is available in two colours. White combines an ultra-subtle piece of white flecked Durat with smoky Tokyo Brown perspex, frosted acrylic, pale wood, copper and pink leather cord. Black features a show-stopping piece of Black Durat with multicoloured flecks running through it, glass effect and frosted black acrylic, hand painted coral-red beads and mint leather cord.
