Somewhere by Heidi Valkola

Don’t you love finding whimsical, unique items – knowing full well all your friends are going to ask where you bought it from? Somewhere is a combination of passion and love for using wood as a material. Creating one-off jewellery pieces which are absolutely adorable. Behind Somewhere is one woman, the label originated out of frustration. Heidi Valkola had studied art and ended up working in an office full-time. She did like her job but at the same time, she missed creating and doing things by hand.

Summer vacation approached and Heidi found herself sitting on the porch. There was some left over wood and she started to think about how she could I use it. After several experiments, and failures , Somewhere was born. Somewhere is a small, independent business from Finland. They favour local materials and want to be eco-friendly. Their jewellery is laser-cut but everything else is hand-carved unique products so they make so they are the perfect gifts for your loved ones.

The label is rather new and it has only been up and running for six months, with still lots of new and exciting plans for the New Year. Heidi spends most of her time sketching and planning new things. This month will see new jewellery and kitchenware coming out, so keep your eyes peeled!
