They’ve been a staple part of every woman’s wardrobe for years – never fading in or out of fashion, always being keen at your side. They go with tops, jumpers, blazers. They dress up, dress down, even pay for things. They may not be as shiny or glamorous as diamonds – but they sure are forever.

You can get them from anywhere, they come in all the colours under the sun, you can get acid washed, stressed, ripped, block coloured, faded, high waisted, midi’s, the list just goes on. But with their never ending flair (even when the flare ended), the skinny’s have persevered to hold on tightly to your hangers.

With bum sculpting, leg enhancing, figure shaping and any other flattery you can apply to your legs, the skinny’s have it covered (very well in fact). They are the staple piece to a wardrobe, they have taken over the off-model look, with every distressed fashion slave dying in their skinny’s with their leather jackets to pull off the ‘I care not caring’ look. Or the ‘I can make skinny’s the new skirt’ fashion, wearing it just as sensuously for a night out.

The boyfriend jeans came and went, the mum jeans had their time, Vintage Levi’s are still being desperately clung onto by some, and Topshop has even introduced the girlfriend jean. Even if they do take off by storm, nothing will compare. They spread years back, even in Sex and the City when Miranda is ecstatic to be able to fit into her skinny’s travelling back to the 90’s, they have held on (strongly) to their reigning champion title.

From cheap to chic, the skinny jeans comes in all price ranges, from the high street’s finest, to let’s go shopping in Selfridges, there is a perfect skinny jean out there for everyone. So when contemplating what to invest your money in, forget the diamond market and think expensive skinny’s; after all, jeans aren’t just for Christmas…
