Footwear brand Mulo recently collaborated and launched its exclusive Norman Parkinson footwear collection. The partnership sees the creation of a limited edition collection using iconic fashion photographs for the spring/summer 2016 season. Three iconic images, spanning the three decades that Parkinson worked with British Vogue magazine, have been applied as a print to Mulo’s modern leather espadrille. The first style immortalises the world famous image ‘Dog Friday’ styled by Grace Coddington in the Seychelles from 1971.

The second design, features Parkinson’s image ‘After Van Dongen’ inspired by the 1919 painting ‘The Corn Poppy’ by the Dutch artist, Kees Van Dongen. This image first appeared in an 1959 edition of British Vogue, followed by a cover for The National Portrait Gallery in 1981. The final piece showcases ‘Looks Likes Summer’ from 1966, shot as a fashion feature in Mexico by Parkinson. The Mulo collection is entirely made by hand, using the unique process of creating the espadrille shape on an Oxford last. MULO shoes are a contemporary modern and durable alternative to the traditional espadrille.
