MadeMe is proud to announce a new collaboration with Brooklyn artist Aya Brown. Aya’s work is rooted in joy, strength, intimacy, and community. The collection features three of her original artworks. “The girl I’m drawing is very specific to how I identify,” Aya explains. “A fuckin’ Dipset dyke from Brooklyn — it’s myself, girls I know, girls I’ve been attracted to.”

Her drawings are created exclusively on brown paper and feature Yankees fitted caps, North Face Nuptse jackets, B.B. Simon belts, and harnesses Aya creates herself. “It’s important for me to document and write my own history, my black queer history,” says Aya. “Because what does our space even look like? Our lesbian space? Our black lesbian space? The world is so not ready, but we’re fucking coming!” MadeMe’s campaign images feature Aya, as well as HAWA, Nicole Sky, and Sasha

All proceeds from the collaboration will benefit the Marsha P. Johnson Institute, an organisation working to defend the rights of black trans people.
