London Fashion Week saw the return of the multi-designer showcase with another impressive line up of both British and International designers.

The prestigious Fashion International event held in the swerve Charing Cross Hotel saw an impressive host of the most promising designers show off their designs to international press and buyers.

The front row boasted of the likes of Pandemonian and Katie Piper, while well-known bloggers and press watched in anticipation of the collections.

Opening the show were designs by Milusha London who wowed with a series of tiered fur concoctions. Peacock blue furs paired with simple black leotards created elegant looks while dresses adorned with a monochrome fur skirt created more of a modern take on fur.

Aakasha on the other hand played with dark hues, using unusual structures as the wow-point of the collection. Obscure cuts and alignments paired with oversized hoods, leather cut-out arms and sheer black tassel necklaces created a collection that wouldn’t look out of the place on the likes of Kanye West, despite being a womenswear collection.

AGA also proved that black is the new black with a French baroque collection featuring a primarily dark colour scheme. Different fabrics and textures were intermixed to create dresses with a spark.

Omar Mansoor reminded us that splashes of colour can go a long way with cherry red playsuits fit for the red carpet. Dramatic sequin embellishments on long-lined stretch jersey silhouettes created standout evening wear for the woman who wants her clothes to be noticeable-yet-wearable.

House of Mobe also nodded towards statement colour with burnt orange and white designs. Asymmetrical suit jackets and red cut-out dungarees with pussycat bow blouses reconstructed the idea of evening wear.

Schwari surprised with a more tribal collection that uses ethical manufacturing to engage the growth of local communities and Massai tribeswomen. African inspired prints created a more earthly feel to the show, while Yuvna Kim dazzled with a range of elegant dresses adorned with beautiful rose appliqués and sequins. Scoop backs and sheer fabrics created a racy collection, while the old-style glamour of the silhouettes made the collection elegant enough to look right at ease amongst A-listers.

It’s safe to say that after such an impressive array of multi-cultural designs, we can agree on one thing; black will definitely be gracing our wardrobes this autumn/winter.
