Shannon K Releases New Single ‘Sapphire’

Singer, songwriter, composer, Shannon K, recently debuted her brand new single ‘Sapphire’ which is available now via iTunes. Shannon who began her musical journey at the tender age of three and then moved to Britain to attend the prestigious Royal Music of London went on to releasing her debut single “Roll Back The Years” at just 12 years old. Now 14 years old, the young pop star debuts her new single ‘Sapphire’ on iTunes. The song is about a beloved person who’s as precious as a Sapphire and you don’t want to lose him or her. Written by Shannon K and David Tyrrell, Sapphire was inspired by the movie Titanic.

Its motivation being the love and sacrifice between characters Jack and Rose and the iconic ending in which Rose proclaimed her undying love for him until his very last breath. Shannon focused on Jack and Rose as she co-wrote this endearing song. “I literally cry whenever I watch that particular scene.” says Shannon. She expressed her feelings to David and collaborated in writing the music. Even when recording the vocals, Shannon keeps her eyes closed and visualised Rose singing to Jack. This helped to further bring out the emotion that she wanted to convey. David, a UK based musician helped Shannon capture the true essence and meaning behind the song, lending his own life experience and understanding to elevate the emotions of the words. Their collaboration resulted in a timeless musical work of art.
