Huf X Todd Francis collaboration

Established apparel and skateboard brand HUF worldwide have announced an exciting collaboration with American artist Todd Francis. This will be a limited edition collection of T-shirts, hats and a unique skate deck due to be released in spring 2015. Born and bred in LA Francis is known for his iconic and fascinating designs which have spanned over the past two decades, working for companies such as Antihero Skateboards.

He even designed the iconic eagle logo for which the brand is known whilst also participating in other signature design projects for other well established companies. Francis’s work combines satirical, bleak humour in order to convey his desired message, usually with environmental or political undertones. The majority of work that Francis is known for is ‘vermin’ artwork, a lot of references to rats, pigeons, snakes etc and the collaboration with HUF highlights this aspect.

From this idea of vermin grew the idea for ‘The Rat Trap’ and one of the skate deck designs is that of a strip club called ‘The Rat Trap’s gentleman club’. Ironically the art depicted on the skateboard features no gentleman. Just city minded scumbags. Of course the graphics are tongue in cheek which is fitting with both HUF as a brand, as well as Francis’s signature style.
