Gypsea Swimwear: Sirens by the Sea + Microscopia Electronica Collection

This spring/summer season, tap into your inner mermaid with two vibrant and distinct collections from cult Australian label, Gypsea Swimwear. “Sirens by the Sea” represents their passion for the ocean and the eclectic beach lifestyle of the modern day mermaid. The second is, “Microscopia Electronica” which offers a glimpse into the unique world of colour and texture visible only to the naked eye under a microscope using polarised light. It’s abstract, experimental and progressive. With these collections, Gypsea have returned to their roots: their love for travel, the ocean; surf, sand and beachside living. The Microscopia Electronica collection very much follows their passion, pushing boundaries with what is considered wearable art.

In the spirit of creative collaboration, Gypsea invites artists from all over the world to use its garments as a canvas for its imaginative prints. This elevates the concept of fashion to a whole new level of artistry; creating pieces of wearable art for Gypsea’s diverse and fashion-forward customer base. The fresh, pastel prints from the Sirens of the Sea collection are derived from the unique and stunning imagery of collaborating artists Daniel Selmeczi, Holly Tree and Alicia Franco.

Microscopia Electronica was shot by award-winning photographer Bernardo Cesare, revealing the intricate patterns and exquisite colors that can be found in bare rocks and minerals. The imagery from the collection features rocks from India, Italy and Spain, as well as the sugar crystals deposited by a drop of Campari.
