The soul of an Artist clothed in the warmth of a Social Worker, Tekeysha Mack aka Peace Junky is the founder of the jewellery brand, Peace of Junk. Tekeysha has constructed a fun, whimsical brand ranging from upcycled bracelets, earrings to statement necklaces. Each piece from the collection embodies her life story. The designer was raised in Augusta, GA but Peace builds her brand in a home studio in Atlanta, GA.  Her love for art exploded while attending  John S Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School in Augusta.

Peace studied the visual arts, jewellery design, and ceramics. She continued her education in the arts at Brewton Parker College in Mount Vernon, GA but pursued a Master’s degree in Social Work at University of South Carolina. Peace continued to work on commissioned paintings for abstract lovers alike, fulfilled  her dream to heal families and children, but there was always one more passion and that is thrifting. Over the years Peace collected lonely broken pieces of jewellery and many buttons to now implement this secret stash to form Peace of Junk.

If you are thinking of creating your own jewellery collection,  you will find Tekeysha Mack the biggest source of  inspiration. It all began after purchasing a starter kit and some jewellery tools, just to practice constructing an earring or two. The next day, the designer revealed her “secret bag” which was a 10 years, 7lb bag worth of treasures, Peace of Junk was born.

One will marvel over the playful colours, shapes, and craftsmanship of the eclectic jewellery. The webstore is bursting with quirky and unique pieces. Every necklace, bracelet and pair of earrings is one of a kind. Peace of Junk’s collection is suitable to be worn for any occasion, no matter what the season is. It doesn’t just stop at jewellery. Peace’s abstract paintings and word art also share stories of resilience, strengths, and travels though journeys of her experiences. The hand crafted, upcycled jewellery is a commodity. You ask why? Each piece is one of a kind.  No two pieces are alike.  Peace of Junk advocates for individuality, recycling, being kind, repurposing, and most of all peace.
