Christian Siriano: From Project Runway to A-list designer

When the divine Jennifer Lopez recently stepped out in this equally divine outfit, the question on our lips of course who designed it? Step forward Christian Siriano who gained his big break by winning the fourth season of “Project Runway”, after impressing with his talent and skill he launched his own label using his namesake in 2008. 

When  megastar Taylor Swift chose one of Siriano’s designs for her fragrance campaign it no doubt gave the young designer worldwide attention.

At just 29 years of age American Siriano who resides in Manhattan is already a firm celebrity favourite, and his meteoric rise is in no doubt thanks to celebrity endorsements including Taylor Swift selecting one of his gowns for her “Wonderstruck” fragrance campaign. Stunning evening wear is definitely Siriano’s strength, he uses beautiful embroidery, metallic and oodles of layers and frills.

His dresses are mostly favoured by the younger generation including Sarah Hyland, Nicki Minaj and Emily Blunt, he has said on the subject “ I like dressing younger girls,  because they take more risks. They’ll kind of wear anything and that’s exciting.”  He also insists his designs are not just rest restricted to actresses expressing the key to owning one of deigns is knowing our own body shape.

2015 pre fall collection

His fall 2015 show was inspired by deep, dark and mysterious creatures from The Congo Jungle and therefore patterns and animal prints were the main attraction.  His ready to wear collection boasts some extremely affordable pieces including bags and shoes, with a pair of shoes costing less than a hundred pounds.  From reality show to bona fide red carpet designer, this talented young man is definitely going to continue creating beautiful designs for the fashion world to enjoy.
