Dreaming of butterfly hair-clips made out of feathers then awakening to a world without them is a devastating affair, one which Sophie King knows more than anyone. Seeing this hole in the market, she decided to do something about it and their came the birth of Crown and Glory.

A fun, whimsical and new approach to head-ware, Crown and Glory has taken the fashion world by storm and scooped  many fans from models Poppy Delevigne, Millie Mackintosh  and Rosie Fortescue, pop-stars Gabielle Aplin, Amelia Lily and Little Mix and a vast range of Fashion Bloggers.

From their first collection of hand painted butterflies in 2011 Crown and Glory have been at the front of the game for alternative fashion accessories. Seeing popularity amongst wedding parties, Sophie even teamed up with Queen of alternative weddings Kat Williams of Rock and Roll Bride to create a range of non traditional bridal head-ware. The collection was in such demand that they teamed up again in 2014 adding a range for Bridesmaids including animal ears, glitter bows and slogan bands.

When asked what she loves about Crown and Glory, Sophie said: “I love being able to be creative and push boundaries, I love making people feel good about themselves and inspiring them to be a little more daring in their sartorial choices and I love the super-awesome community being a Crown and Glory girl makes you a part off”.

Always being one step ahead of the crowd, Sophie soon stumbled across her newest venture and started the world’s first headpiece subscription box – The Glitterati. Hundreds of subscribers across three continents have signed up to the monthly subscription taking the world over with glitter, one subscriber at a time. Each box is worth £50+ and is a glitter-filled box of joy. Being a part of The Glitterati also entitles you to entry into a secret group of glitter-enthusiasts on Facebook.

The latest venture for Crown and Glory was to start a series of Pop-up Stores, the first appearing in Kensington, London in late May. Setting up at the delicious Anges de Sucre, Sophie and business partner Gareth invited fans along to create bespoke clips, headbands, fascinators and crowns. With jars full of flowers, glitter and crystals, it was like a pick and mix candy shop for sweet toothed fashionistas.
