Fashion is immersive now, all encompassing – frocks, designers, retail, museums, street, couture, stylish people, words, moving pictures… it touches us in every aspect of our lives.  Bath in Fashion explores fashion from craft to catwalk and puts Bath once again in the media spotlight. Bath in Fashion 2015 in partnership with Jolly’s, brings a high energy week bringing designers and fashion commentators to the city for a week- long celebration of fashion.

Jessica Bumpus, Fashion Features Editor of Vogue.co.uk will be in conversation with Holly Fulton, the London based fashion designer known for her bold graphics, 3D motifs and innovative use of textiles. She has won several awards including Young Designer of The Year 2009 at The Scottish Fashion Awards and the Swarovski Emerging Talent Award for Accessories in 2009 at The British Fashion Awards. Keira Knightly was recently spotted in a dress from her S/S ‘15 collection.

Susannah Frankel, Fashion Director of Grazia and Tim Blanks editor-at-large for Style.com will discuss “Savage Beauty; Alexander McQueen” to co-incide with the hugely anticipated exhibition at the V&A about the work of this extraordinary designer.

Bath in Fashion 2015  looks at the ultimate form of embellishment with Mo Coppoletta one of the world’s most respected tattoo artists who has taken this 21st Century art form to new heights.  Coppoletta’s fans include celebrities like Paloma Faith and he has designed fabrics for Liberty; a fascinating man with an amazing story to tell.

Jaeger is also supporting Bath in Fashion with a series of “in conversation” Jaeger talks including their own Chief Executive, Colin Henry who will share the brand’s creative vision, a game plan to reach its potential as one of Britain’s most prestigious and cherished brands. Jaeger is trading on the resurgence in British manufacturing which fits well with its positioning as “premium British heritage”.  A case in point is British Bagmakers who manufacture beautiful bags close to Bath and are shaping an event for Bath in Fashion 2015 to mentor emerging talent; How to make it in Fashion.

Thea Porter came to epitomise seventies bohemian chic, developing a unique aesthetic that drew on an eclectic mix of luxurious fabrics, signature dresses and Soho laissez-faire. The designer is the subject of the spring exhibition at London’s Fashion &Textile Museum and her daughter, Venetia Porter comes to Bath to talk about her mother’s work and the new V&A book she has co-edited.

Hatched Matched and Disptached American Museum

The glittering Assembly Rooms will host Bath in Fashion’s 2015 runway shows produced by John Walford from London Fashion Week with top stylist Rebekah Roy.  London make up specialists AOFM will handle make up for the shows whilst local hair salon Artizan will work their magic once again.
