The royal family are known for their youthful appearances and flawless skin, but how do they do it? With many of their skincare routines turning out to consist of affordable products that are accessible to us all, the results may surprise you!

Experts at Vera Clinic have looked into the skincare routines of our favourite royals by scouring TV interviews, magazine features and quotes where they talked about products used. Vera Clinic’s skincare experts then analysed the skincare routines and offered commentary on the tactics.

Kate Middleton

With her favourite products ranging from high end to affordable drugstore bargains, the Duchess of Cambridge has a varied skincare collection. She is said to swear by Karin Herzog products and uses rosehip oil as a vital part of her routine, having an extensive collection of luxury goodies that explain her natural glow. Kate is also a regular visitor to Deborah Mitchell, a popular English beautician who offers bee venom facials that are said to boost collagen production. Although she loves a high-end treat, more modest additions to her collection include a flannel and Nivea Moisturising cream which set her back just a few pounds.

Meghan Markle

The Duchess of Sussex is a huge media hit thanks to her stunning makeup looks, classy fashion sense and naturally glowing skin. One of her skincare essentials is tea tree oil, a must-have which is accessible to us all thanks to its affordable price point. Another bathroom cabinet fave is the sugar advanced therapy lip treatment by Fresh, a mid-range product at £21.50 which is said to repair dry lips. Megan is also partial to a cheek and jawline massage and facial by Nichola Joss, claiming it “sculpts your face from the inside out”.

Queen Elizabeth

At 95 years old, the Queen never fails to amaze us with amazing skin for her age. Although Elizabeth doesn’t partake in facials or face massage like her daughters-in-law, she still has a substantial skincare collection which makes up a big part of her beauty regime. She is known to moisturise her skin twice a day with a layer of Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream and is a fan of Molten Brown bath products. Being more affordable than many would expect, the Queen’s beauty cabinet is somewhat reasonably priced which is great news for us all since her products clearly work a treat!

Camilla Bowles

The Duchess of Cornwall has a unique approach to skincare and swears by bee venom to keep her skin looking healthy and youthful. Using a mix of bee venom and hyaluronic acid, the combination is said to control the facial muscles for tightening, firming, lifting and hydrating results. Camilla is also a client of celebrity facialist, Deborah Mitchell, paying regular visits and using her unique skincare line which also contains bee venom, claiming to have a tightening effect on lines and wrinkles.

Princess Beatrice

Princess Beatrice is known for her radiant skin and glowing complexion, wowing the media as she looks full of life after giving birth to her baby daughter this year. Although her ‘pregnancy glow’ can be put down to the body’s natural reaction of producing more progesterone, Beatrice stays on top of her regular skincare routine to maintain her youthful skin. The Dr. Organic Snail Gel is said to be a staple, providing anti-ageing benefits by soothing and hydrating the skin. Again, the price may surprise you as a 50ml pot will set you back just £20.99, being an easily accessible product that you can try for yourself.

Princess Eugenie

Having previously shared her love for bronzer to create a radiant makeup look, Princess Eugine again creates an effortless glow. She has said she makes sure to wash off her makeup thoroughly every night to allow her skin to breathe and prevent product build-up, staying on top of her routine with the Jo Malone Eucalyptus and Mint Cleanser said to be a firm favourite. In the lead up to her wedding day, experts believe she may have undergone the 7 skin method which sees people apply a toner seven times a day to create a glass-like appearance.
