Artwork by Hanul Cho is  so good, personally, I’d give my right arm to plaster my bedroom walls from top to bottom with each dreamy  illustrationt. Read our interview with her below!
Please tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m an illustrator living in Seoul, South Korea. I worked as a fashion designer. At that time, drawing was just my hobby to release my stress. Suddenly, I have got an infection in my knee and I couldn’t walk well. Since then drawing has been another method of healing and feeling expression. Now I can walk better than before.

What inspires you to draw?
I’m inspired by what’s around me such as movies, photographs, nature and people. Nowadays I draw after watching a movie or a drama. When I draw I can change the story on my illustrations and remind myself of the highlight of the movie.

Do you have a favourite piece of artwork?
It is hard to choose one of them. One day I like this illustration and next day I am attracted to another illustration.

What does a typical day look like for you?
My daily life usually depends on what projects or client work I have. If I have a project I concentrate on my drawing all day. Or I like to spend time by myself. When I have some spare time I like to hang out with friends, I enjoy going to cafes and driving.

What do you love most about being an illustrator?
When I can see the happy face of somebody who receives my work. Recently I drew my sister and her boyfriend for an anniversary present. I’ll never forget their smiling faces when they saw it. I feel a sense of satisfaction when I’m making someone happy by drawing.

And what are the most difficult things about being an illustrator?
I couldn’t live a stable life, sometimes I have a lot of work to do but occasionally I don’t. Consequentially, it is hard to expect a regular income and have consistent hours.

Would you want to do anything else other than draw?
I don’t want to imagine that, but if I didn’t draw I’d want to own my own small restaurant and a cook in it. I like to treat friends to what I’ve cooked and they constantly want to learn my recipes. I’d turn the corner of the restaurant into a gallery and sell artwork from other illustrators, but I always want to remain an illustrator!

Do you have any exciting projects in the pipeline?
I had an exhibition in February 2013. The theme was about the flowers bloomed in the winter. I was so excited because I love to give bouquet of flowers to friends as a present! The exhibition went well and I did my best.
