It’s autumn and officially sweater weather and there’s nothing more disappointing than staring into your wardrobe, telling yourself you’ve nothing nice to wear. If you’re on a budget, this DIY tutorial will solve the problem. Here’s how to rework an old jumper, going from a 2 to a 10 within the space of an hour.

What You Will Need

An old knitted jumper you want to bling up
Scissors
Needle and cotton
Sequin fabric
Craft paper and pencil

Instructions

1. Using your hand as a guide, draw an oblong shape on the paper.
2. Cut the paper out and pin it to the back of the sequins.
3. Cut the shape out.
4. Do a second one the same.
5. Thread your needle.
6. Pin the patches in place, and then try on the sweater to make sure they are located in the right place. Then lightly stitch  them on, using a longer stitch on the inside of the sweater and a shorter one on the front so that the stitches are less noticeable.
7. Stitch the other patch on, making sure to stitch in the right place so they look symmetrical.
8. Voila. Perfect for brightening up a chilly day, or wearing with denim cut offs on a warmer one.
