Designer Spotlight: Boulezar

At Boulezar everything starts with the careful and extensive selection of the very best fabrics available on the market. These are sourced from small to medium-sized family-run businesses mainly situated in Italy and Japan. Because the fabrics represent one of the main building blocks to their collections, they put a lot of time and effort into this process. The weight of the fabrics, the way they fall, how they feel on the skin and their uniqueness are all contributing factors. Each fabric is extensively tested for their suitability – they are worn and even slept in to test comfort and wear. They are pre-washed to test their washability and their ability to return to its original shape. Only if all these requirements are fulfilled to their expectations, the fabric will be included in the collection.

The design process at Boulezar finds its origin in their philosophy – each piece is essentially designed for true comfort and an unobtrusive, contemporary style that surpasses seasonal trends and temporary vogues.
An idea, a desire or an observation combined with few pencil strokes from their design team are thereby all it takes to start the creation of a new piece. A rough sketch or a simple technical drawing are enough for their skilled tailors at the atelier to understand and interpret the silhouette and the balance of the piece.

An incredible amount of attention goes into the details within their designs – all for the purpose of true comfort, distinctive quality and uniqueness. There thereby define true comfort, however, to be more than a luxurious feel.
