wolf & moon - the clothes maiden

We had a great time at the Wolf & Moon pop-up shop in Shoreditch last week for the launch of Fjordland – the new collection inspired by the natural beauty of the Norwegian fjords. The night was a buzzing success with the hipsters out in full force for the first-Thursday-of-the-month gallery previews and a fountain of Pinkster gin raspberry cocktails kicking off the bank holiday weekend.

Wolf & Moon create bespoke handcrafted jewellery made in East London by British designer Hannah Davis and her small team. Hannah is a Goldsmiths Fine Art graduate and started selling her jewellery under the name of Wolf & Moon while she was still at university. The new collection Fjordland is inspired by a road-trip Hannah took last year through the breathtaking fjords of Western Norway, documented by the incredible photograph collection she took on her iPhone and two film cameras. The jewellery pieces are complemented by a range of limited edition photographic prints and stationary.

The natural beauty of the Norwegian fjords is seen clearly in the pieces. Stunning natural scenery – lakes , glaciers, cliffs, green mountains, snowy peaks and endless skies are reflected in the dazzling colours and jagged shapes. Impressive statement necklaces saw chunky cuts of rich golds and bronze tones contrasting with dazzling blues and mirrored shards of ice. Subtle chain pendants and delicate earrings were reminiscent of the rippling reflections in water with light greens and watery hues. All-about-the-rings. Sure to get you more than a few compliments.
