Born in New York and raised in Los Angeles, this designer has always been interested in exploring new places and experimenting with new ideas and techniques. Her work is an eclectic combination of influences from her travels. The Haute Child in the City collection seeks to investigate what the Renaissance means in the city of Florence today. The ties to it’s history create great challenges for the contemporary arts which are often shadowed by the past yet inspired by it at the same time. This body of work combines the two worlds of old and new and puts forth ideas as to how these two. This collection also focuses on the impact of accessories. Big, bold pieces have the ability to dramatically change a look making the dress the after thought. Each piece is one of a kind in this collection and created using various techniques and methods of traditional couture. Sara Amrhein’s designs cross both cultural and artistic boarders. Over the years the designer has gained extensive experience in the art and fashion industry and has shown her work in collaboration with Pop-Upsters in San Francisco, The One of a Kind Show and Sale in Chicago, and Autor Contemporary Jewellery Fair in Bucharest, Romania.
