The AW14/15 collection from Lost in Wonderland is described as ‘gold smoke and opaque visions’ by designer Scarlett Großelanghorst, whose new creations evokes ideas of change, senses and innovations vividly shown in the heart of the upcoming collection. Finding her muses in early 20th century women who modernised the art of dancing; Anita Berber, Isadora Duncan, Loie Fuller, Ruth St. Denis and Valeska Gert, it is these women who looked upon change that are the inspiration behind the designer’s collection.

Each dancer have influenced aspects of the collection’s new ranges through Scarlett borrowing inspiration from them, the time period they lived in and the art movements that changed with them. With these muses, each dancer represent a range that includes lingerie basics, sleepwear and slip dresses. Scarlett has stated that the upcoming Autumn/ Winter 2014 is designed to evoke a silent and centred mood, however, with such vibrant and changing inspirations, these new additions to the brand can also be visualised as a part of a new and exciting movement of fashion.

The designer has noted that the cut out and lace-up details which was seen in last season’s collection have now disappeared, favouring new playful stripsters that show a ‘cheeky bottom’. She added that the fans of her brand will find small hints to Art Nouveau lead glass windows in the cut and structure of fabric-combinations of certain ranges like Anita and Valeska. The collection’s colours are now softer and more muted yet the colder and darker hues light up by small and delicate gold details creating a more playful and spirited look, designed to be felt emotionally and visually hence the designer’s phrase for the collection. She described how the colours are connected to feeling: the ‘soft pastels sooth the mind and dark wine-like colours create a melancholic feeling which makes you want to lean back on your sofa with some tea or a glass of wine. It’s a season to pull back from daily stress, to look inside, to share time with your beloved ones, to hide in cosy places.’

The warmth and fragility of the collection is abundant in its demure yet daring character, and the designer has also shaped its range with a more vivid sensuality, noting that its clothing range has been taken to a more sophisticated level. This occurs through the material which as ‘body hugging’ accentuates the female silhouette whilst the ‘classic balconette and plunge wires create a natural, yet idealized breast shape, while giving a smooth touch due to soft fabrics. The cups are cut low to display a nice decolté without using too playful elements. Bottoms come as bikini slips, panties and thongs.’
