Dora Abodi’s signature style can be defined as baroque futurism; fusing past and future classical art and religious rituals with high technology. The concept of the S/S’15 collection comes from a fictional cult that has its own symbolism and rituals alongside an extraterrestrial technologic culture. Antiquity, instinct and opulence is mixed with rigid and robotic technology to create a new religion that binds different cultures, yielding prints which are rich, vivid and organic.

Abodi’s Transylvanian roots are revealed with the dark romantic storytelling that runs throughout the collection. This season sees a blend of metallic royal blue, antique gold, champagne silver, and transparent black and white. Fabrics used include custom printed silks, hand cut-out leather, pearls, beads and cabochons, silk organza, metallic gold lame, jacquard and embroideries. The signature symbol, The Twin Unisus, appears within the prints, embroideries and the hand embellished ornaments upon varnished leather.
