Welsh indie pop outfit Kidsmoke have announced the release of their latest track ‘Waves’, a gradual builder that immediately draws comparisons to the likes of Wild Nothing, Real Estate and Deerhunter. Beginning with a solitary guitar and the combined pristine vocals of frontman Lance Williams (guitar) and Sophie Ballamy (guitar), ‘Waves’ leads into a soaring chorus, drenched in beautifully layered harmonies that hold your heart with its grip. The rest of the group (James Stickels – bass, Ash Turner – drums) are soon introduced, crafting an uplifting track that culminates in a cascade of guitar and vocals; the shared harmonies casting a harsh reminder that everything has to end.

With early support from John Kennedy (Radio X) and Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music) alongside appearances at Green Man Festival already under their belts, Kidsmoke’s profile looks set to grow in the coming months with several live dates in the pipeline.
