Smart watches are becoming the hot new devices to own this year and have become the focal point of the entire tech industry in recent months, especially with tech giants such as Apple and Samsung releasing their own versions to accompany their smartphones. There are many different ways to look at smart watches and their impact on the market. You can look at a smart watch as a stand-alone device and a game changer in the tech industry, similar to the iPhone. However, you can also look at it as an accessory to a smartphone, which seems to be the general path that Apple, Samsung and other manufacturers such as Pebble have taken.

Smart watches, despite the fact that they are connected to our smartphones are positioned to become incredibly useful tools to help increase productivity. There are several reasons why this is, and the first, is because it heavily reduces the amount of time you use your smartphone. Of course, a smart watch such as an Apple Watch essentially displays the same information as on your smartphone. However, keep in mind that Apple designed the Apple Watch to be used 5-10 seconds at a time, which means that your interactions will range on the shorter side. As a result, you may look at your smartphone much less and are less likely to start using several others applications that may consume even more of your time. In addition, smart watches also bring tools directly to your wrist. Tools such as timers, fitness apps, airline applications and notes help to shorten the amount of time you spend on your smartphone. Having these things on your wrist and handy means that you might spend a lot less time fumbling for your smartphone and can do things much more quickly than you could before.
