East Anglian duo Amethysts return with their new single Be ThereHaving spent the second half of 2018 hidden away in their rural studio in the idyllic eastern countryside, band members Clarice and Simon’s carefully crafted ambient pop shines through in this latest release.Marrying guitar lines with liquid synths, the two-piece fuse vintage drum beats and fathoms of deep sub-bass with diaphanous, serpentine vocals, producing a mesmeric piece of alt-pop mastery.

Discussing the single, the duo stated: “Be There explores and conveys the passion and ambition in us both, lyrically and musically. After an evening of jamming, its 6/8 time signature and catchy vocal line just fell into place within a few hours. It’s the first song we’ve written in 6/8. Clarice took to writing the lyrics from an optimistic yet emotional place hoping it would help to self heal during a personal family affair”.

The electronic pair have already racked up close to a million plays on streaming services alongside BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music airplay and sessions with BBC Introducing. Festival appearances at Secret Garden Party, multiple Sofar Sounds sessions and their first London headline shows saw them establish themselves over the last twelve months and with Be There, the band provide a bold statement of intent for 2018.
