London

With some many amazing attractions all in one place, London is bound to be on the itinerary of many a traveller.  However a stay in the city can leave a huge hole in the wallet.  Try a cheaper alternative and book a glamping break at Lee Valley Camping and Caravan Park.  Under an hour from central London, this peaceful and modern site even has an 18-hole golf course to keep visitors entertained. The site offers various glamping options with prices starting from only £35 per night for a two berth camping pod.  Alternatively a family-sized woodland cabin costs from only £50 per night.  The site has plenty of availability at weekends and during school holidays.  In August the family cabin, sleeping four people, is available for £130 for two nights, working out at just £16.25pppn.  Visitors will need to bring their own bedding and towels.

Stonehenge

Outside of London, Stonehenge is repeatedly voted one of the UK’s most popular attractions.  These impressive stones can be seen from miles around.  Stay just a few miles away at Botany Camping in Warminster, where another equally family fun attraction is on the doorstep – Longleat.  This small and cosy site has basic facilities including hot showers, toilets and a washing-up room.  Spacious bell tents offer accommodation for up to five people per tent.  Each tent has its own kitchen corner complete with firelighters, kindling, charcoal, marshmallows and skewers.  Visitors must bring their own bedding and towels.  A two-night stay this July or August costs £260, which if the tent is full is just £26pppn.

Chester Zoo

Inspire kids’ imaginations with a visit to Chester Zoo where they will encounter all types of animals from gorillas and lions to penguins and bears plus many more species, indeed the zoo boasts over 500 species.  Spend the nights at Big Foot Glamping and Camping at Tarvin Sands.  Here visitors can continue with the animal theme as the site is home to its very own herd of reindeer.  The site is also home to kingfishers, water voles and geese and has its own private fishing lakes. All in all there are 25 acres of land for visitors to explore which also encompass the site’s own showers, washing facilities and cafe.  Stay in a large family glamping pod which accommodates four people. The pod is fully furnished, visitors just need to provide their own towels and cooking equipment. A two-night stay in July and August costs £150 or £18.75pppn.

Windermere Lake Cruises

England’s largest lake attracts millions of visitors every year with many of them hopping aboard Windermere Lake Cruises for a gentle cruise up the lake to Bowness or Ambleside.  The boat starts its journey at the south end of the lake, where other attractions include the Lakes Aquarium and Lakeside to Haverthwaite Steam Railway.  Newby Bridge Country Caravan Park is within walking distance and offers accommodation in modern static caravans.  Four-person caravans cost from £417 for a minimum three night stay this August based on two adults and two children (£34.75pppn). The caravans are fully furnished and equipped with everything visitors will need for an enjoyable holiday.

Flamingo Land Theme Park

Combining a theme park and a zoo, Flamingo Land in North Yorkshire is the ultimate holiday attraction, where families could enjoy days of activities and adventure.  Woodpecker Pods is just a few miles away and offers luxury glamping pods in a peaceful and picturesque setting. Each pod sleeps four and comes with its own firepit, patio and outdoor furniture, or visitors may choose to mingle with their fellow glampers at the on-site communal barbecue – bring your own food. The pods offer a basic sleeping space – visitors will need to bring their own bedding, towels and cooking equipment.  A two-night stay this summer costs £100 or £12.50pppn.

Drayton Manor Theme Park

Featuring a seemingly endless array of attractions including Thomas the Tank Engine, this Midlands-based theme park regularly comes within the top 10 of family favourite attractions. A few miles away from the hustle and bustle of the attraction is Woodhall Glamping, a rural site that offers relaxing and simple camping in the heart of England. The lovely bell tents offer cosy accommodation for up to four people and come complete with a woodburning stove and kitchen area.  There are also communal shower and washing facilities. A two-night stay in August costs from £240 or £30pppn.
