Being body confident is an issue reflected upon many of us. It may seem obvious but it’s common to forget that being body confident isn’t just about the physical appearance of our bodies – but how we feel about them too. When we feel good about ourselves everyone can tell. You’ve heard the Roald Dahl quote; “Think good thoughts and they will shine out of your face like sun beams”? Well, it’s the same for your thoughts about your body. Being self confident will encourage others to think positively about you too.

Here are some tips that may help boost your confidence:

Eat Healthy

Making a conscious choice to snack on healthy foods will leave you feeling energised and refreshed – not bloated and sluggish. This energy will have a knock-on effect on your mood and you’re more likely to feel great about your body when you’re full of energy. (Plus choosing to eat healthy snacks will have a better physical effect on your body!)

The importance of a Good Posture

Research has shown that having a good posture encourages you to have more confidence in your own thoughts. So, it may not just impact other peoples impression of you, but your own attitude towards yourself too. It may be worth making an effort to hold your back straight and shoulders back when you next sit in an office chair or walk down the street!

Make Time For You

Taking time out to treat yourself is essential in boosting your esteem. Whether it’s curling up with a good book or booking a massage to de-stress, taking an hour out of your busy schedule each day will have you respecting yourself a lot more.

Smile

When you smile, neurotransmitters called endorphins are released which then encourage a positive mood – and you’re more likely to have positive thoughts about your body image when you’re in a good mood! A great thing about this is that your brain can’t tell the difference between genuine and non-genuine smiles, so even if your facial expression is put on endorphins will still be released!

Daily Routine and Time Management

Key to making time for yourself and eating well is developing your time management to create a daily routine where you dedicate time for yourself to unwind and time to prepare healthy snacks for the days ahead. The easiest way to feel good about your body is to have a healthy, happy one!
